For more information about the role, including a detailed person specification, please see the attached recruitment pack.

At Roehampton we change lives by helping our students to develop the confidence, knowledge and adaptability they need for a successful graduate career and fulfilling life.

With around 8,000 students on campus as well as a further 9,000 studying with partners and online, we provide an engaging portfolio of courses across a wide range of subjects. We also have an excellent research profile. With international reach, our research informs policy, enriches culture and improves people’s lives. In the last Research Excellence Framework, we were ranked as the most research-intensive modern university in the country.

We are looking for two new members to join our Audit Committee. This exciting opportunity would allow you to extend your professional experience and network, and make a vital contribution to the delivery of the University’s long-term ambitions. The Audit Committee is a committee of the University Council, which is the organisation’s governing body. It oversees an ongoing programme of review to ensure that the University has adequate and effective arrangements in place for matters including risk management, control and governance, financial reporting, value for money and data quality.

The role would involve attending four meetings per year and a one-day strategic planning session, usually with a dinner the evening before. The meetings all take place at the University’s main campus in Roehampton, London. The posts are non-remunerated, but all reasonable expenses will be paid. The length of appointment would be for an initial term of three years, renewable for one further term of three years.

We would welcome applications from candidates with experience of risk management, finance, accountancy, compliance, governance or data management, or who have experience working within higher education or a related sector.

Roehampton is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and we would welcome applications from all who are interested in the position.

The deadline for applications is 12 March 2019. To apply, please send your CV and a short covering letter setting out why you are interested in the position to governance@roehampton.ac.uk. The selection process will involve a telephone conversation to discuss your application followed by an interview at the University.

Please contact governance@roehampton.ac.uk to discuss receiving the recruitment pack in an alternative format.

Informal enquiries can be made to Dr George Turner, Clerk to Council, at george.turner@roehampton.ac.uk.
