Stronger Kent Communities
The accounts will already be prepared and the Independent Examiner has to verify them...
About: Communigrow is a registered educational charity aiming to reconnect people with where their food comes from. Learning, teaching and sharing are at the core of all aspects of the project: food production, conservation and wellbeing. The charity grows a wide range of seasonal produce which is chemical free and cultivated according to Wholesome Food Association principles. They sell locally via a veg box scheme, and through community outlets, for a suggested donation. Communigrow provide field based sessions on growing and conservation for schools and community groups.
Location: Ditton, near Maidstone
Volunteering Needs: independent inspection of annual accounts.
Helen, the charity’s secretary comments, “The accounts will already be prepared and the Independent Examiner has to verify them. A bit like auditing but not as extensive. The volunteer would have to take a sample of transactions. The good news is that our accounts are in very good order and it shouldn’t take a finance person too long to find their way around. We currently use Excel spreadsheets.”
Work Remotely: an initial meeting would be needed, then working remotely would be possible.
Estimated time to complete task: 4-8 hours
