The Audit and Risk Committee receives assurance that IOSH’s internal controls and risk management processes are fit for purpose, protect the integrity of the IOSH brand and are consistent with current UK good practice. The Committee has delegated authority from the Board of Trustees. The role includes ensuring that the Institution is adhering to accounting standards, recommending annual accounts to the Board of Trustees for approval, ensuring the effectiveness and independence of the external and internal auditors, and scrutinising accounting and risk management policies.
The role of Independent Committee Member is to provide impartial advice and support to the Committee, using any specific skills, knowledge or experience that they have to help the Committee to reach sound decisions and provide assurance to the Board of Trustees.
You should have experience of operating at a senior level in a business environment and/or relevant qualifications. You will also have an accountancy background, ideally a full member of CIMA or a CCAB accounting body, with experience of financial management and accounting policies.

The role is unremunerated, however reasonable expenses will be paid.
