RASASC-Guildford provides support and advice to survivors of rape and sexual abuse, both male and female, in Surrey and the surrounding areas. We are searching for an honorary treasurer to join our friendly Board of 6 trustees to provide strategic direction on the charity’s finances and practical support to the CEO and Fundraising Manager. The charity’s income and expenditure are approximately £500,000 per annum. The Charity utilizes external accounting and payroll agencies for day-to-day accounting and the Treasurer’s role in this respect is limited to supervision. Time commitment is to attend Board meetings of 2 hours duration every 2 months, prepare appropriate reports for such meetings (typically 2 hours per meeting) and provide ad-hoc support of 1 - 2 hours per month to the Executive as required (usually remotely). The key attributes required are an individual who is keen to engage actively with the running of the charity, who is independent and enthusiastic and communicates well. No previous experience of the charity’s work is required. Trustees are appointed for a period of 3 years, renewable on mutual agreement.
