After years of sustained growth the Helen Bamber Foundation is recruiting a new Honorary Treasurer trustee.
Volunteer Role: Honorary Treasurer
The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a specialist UK charity – founded in 2005 – working tirelessly to give survivors of trafficking and torture the strength to move on. At the Helen Bamber Foundation we believe our society will be judged by how we care for those to whom we owe nothing. We are a human rights organisation that provides survivors of extreme cruelty with everything they need to make a sustained recovery. Every year in our office in Camden, London we support hundreds of clients every year from all over the world through our Model of Integrated Care (MoIC) which includes:
- Specialist programmes of therapeutic care for individuals, families and groups;
- Detailed medical assessments & co-ordination of external healthcare services;
- Provision of expert Medico-legal Reports and other legal protection support (for asylum, immigration and welfare and housing issues);
- Welfare and housing casework and advice;
- A community creative arts, skills and activities programme and integration; and
- Referral to specialist lawyers and organisations for legal, welfare & housing advice.
The goal of the Model of Integrated Care is to build a lasting and sustained recovery for each of our clients. And building upon our direct expert experience we also: undertake research to provide evidence of best practice; work to influence policy change and introduce best practice; and support others to change their practice through training and partnerships.
As a Trustee, you will be joining a charity in a sound financial position, with an ambition to build on our success over the last few years and grow our impact upon the wider population of survivors of trafficking and torture.
We are a friendly and welcoming organisation and are passionate about what we do. You’ll be joining our Board of Trustees at an exciting time with lots of opportunities to build on our success over the next few years. If you have the time and enthusiasm to be part of something amazing, please get in touch.
HBF is an equal opportunities and Living Wage employer. We are committed to attracting and recruiting diverse candidates as it’s important that our trustees, staff, ambassadors and volunteers reflect the communities we serve at every level within the organisation.
