CARE International UK is looking for a new Trustee, with Professional Fundraising experience and Digital skills who can add enthusiasm, expertise and strategic value to the board. We want to attract applicants from a range of different backgrounds who are passionate about supporting people to reduce barriers while making change happen to ensure all are equal.

About the role
CARE have been working globally for 75 years, from our roots delivering the CARE package to support poor families in Europe to now saving lives right across the globe. We promote gender equality as an integral part of all our work, including Humanitarian Action, Right to Food, Water and Nutrition, Women’s Economic Justice, Right to Health and Climate Justice.
At the root of poverty is social injustice and gender inequality, which is why we work with the poorest and most vulnerable communities, developing programmes and projects to help people to help themselves. By empowering women, we empower communities.
We work closely with our country offices to develop and deliver much needed support projects and programmes in complex environments including Syria, Yemen, Uganda and Bangladesh. This is high-risk and challenging work, but necessary and highly rewarding.
As we continue to work through a period of change influenced by uncertain political and socio-economic environments, a global pandemic and welcome demands for gender and racial equality, we have developed our CARE 2030 Vision outlining how it will contribute to lasting impact at scale in poverty eradication and social justice.
Our vision is of a world of hope, inclusion and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and all people live in dignity and security justice.
Who we're looking for
To support this new strategic phase, we need a Trustee who can add significant enthusiasm, expertise and strategic value. We are looking for someone who is creative, innovative and dynamic and who will bring fresh thinking and new perspectives to our Board.
We want to attract someone with professional charity fundraising expertise, particularly philanthropy, major donor and partnerships experience, as well as strong digital skills.
With the diversity of our work globally, we must ensure that our Board continues to reflect the range of people, societies and cultures that we work in. As such we are seeking people with a broader range of perspectives including those with disabilities, people who identify as LGBT, young people and people from varied ethnic backgrounds. People with experience of living or working in developing countries and with insights into the culture, health, education and political environments in such countries are also highly desirable.
You will be passionate about supporting people to support themselves, creating opportunities and reducing barriers for people while creating change to ensure that all people are equal. We would like to invite you to be a part of making this change happen by joining our Board and supporting us on our journey of change and development.
