Job Description

AfID offers volunteer assignments across the UK, Africa, Asia & South America including Trustee/Treasurer roles and Capacity Building placements from 2 to 12 weeks.

Our partner is an international NGO addressing the moral and economic imperative that every child, everywhere, should have a teacher who cultivates the joy of lifelong learning.

At a practical level, that means they support governments to reignite intrinsic motivation in teachers and local officials, through teacher networks. Their vision is a world where teachers love teaching and children love learning.

To further strengthen their governance team they are seeking a new co-opted Finance Committee member. This is an important role that will help provide support and challenge to the executive team and Board as they manage the organisation’s operations, finances and legal risks across the globe.

Finance Committee Member Role - quarterly meetings

The role is ideally suited to someone with a strong operations or finance background that has international experience (particularly in India, Uganda, Indonesia or Ethiopia).  Strong alignment with the organisations values and charitable aims and the ability to communicate sensitively and clearly are essential.
