The Scout Association - Regional Services Team - North
Developing a Scout Group requires volunteers who can organise and work together to make things happen in a community. If you are a person who can help keep people on track and provide administrative know how this role may be for you.
The Group Secretary helps a Scout Group by assisting the Group Chair to support the functions of the Group Executive committee in accordance with Scout Association rules. The Secretary provides administrative support, keeps records, provides a focal point for external communications and is a trustee of the Group.
Most Group committees meet on a quarterly basis, and request reports and papers to be circulated approximately 7 days in advance. Attendance at the meeting allows for discussions and explanation so all committee members understand the Group's position.
It is a rewarding role, allowing you to support the growth and development of young people and other adults volunteering.
