Developing Health & Independence is an award winning charity.  We help to turn around the lives of the most marginalised through a range of complementary services, including drug and alcohol treatment and housing.   Working across Avon, Somerset and Wiltshire, DHI has income of £6M and over 180 staff.

 

We are looking for Trustees to join our Board to help ensure sound governance and strategic oversight.  We are specifically looking for trustees with sound financial knowledge and/or those with specific expertise in the areas of substance misuse or housing.

This role will particularly suit you if:

  • You have good experience of charitable or commercial financial management at senior level or expertise in working in social justice, particularly in the field of housing or substance misuse.

  • You believe everyone has the potential to make a meaningful contribution to society

  • You strongly support our values:Self direction, stimulation, zest for life.

  • Have a strong affinity to our ‘can do’ ethos and a desire to act as a ‘critical friend’.

  • Have excellent communication skills.

This is a voluntary role, although all expenses are paid.  There are no restrictions on where you’re based, as long as you live within reasonable travel distance of Bath and can attend bi-monthly early evening Board meetings and occasional attendance at sub-committees and events.
