Help us bring people together to support Surrey!
The Community Foundation for Surrey plays a unique and trusted role in the county as an independent charitable foundation that brings together local Donors with voluntary organisations addressing the many areas of deprivation evident throughout Surrey.
Our vision is to build a strong movement of local philanthropists, with a unique place-based giving approach, to support local people and disadvantaged individuals. Over the last 18 months we have awarded over £5m in grant funding, more than double the previous year. However, over the next few years, we will need to significantly grow our giving if we are to meet the rapidly increasing levels of need within our communities.
At this critical time in our development, we are looking for enthusiastic people with a passion for the future of Surrey to take on the important role of Trustee to the Community Foundation. Due to retirement we are seeking two or three new Trustees.
Who we're looking for
- We're particularly looking for Trustees who can help us to ensure that our Board is as diverse as the local communities that we serve, in order to bring together a range of opinions and lived-experience on our Board.
We're seeking specific skills and experience in
- experience of grant-making or philanthropy in the region
- a strong background in governance and strategy.
In any instance we're keen to hear from people who share a passion for their local community, and the wider voluntary and community sector.
