Sparsholt College Hampshire
A stimulating, and often very rewarding opportunity, to bring insights from your own field of experience to the strategic direction and effective governance of Sparsholt College Hampshire - helping students from a range of backgrounds to reach their full potential across our land-based, general FE and specialist HE offer on two Hampshire campuses.
We are looking for applicants with an accountancy qualification to build on the existing financial expertise on the board (governors are not asked to provide professional advice).
Governors attend 2-3 board/committee meetings each academic term and contribute to collective-decision making and oversight of the college. (Annual time commitment c56 hours, including preparation time.) Appointments are usually for a four year term of office.
The college has most recently been rated Ofsted 'Good', Teaching Excellent Framework 'TEF Gold' and has a financial rating of 'Good' from the Education & Skills Funding Agency. The college is an except charity (regulated by the Department for Education) and an HE provider (regulated by the Office for Students).
Our board of governors is seeking an experienced professional with a desire to help us in our ambition to seek further improvements and positive outcomes for our students, communities and employers.
This is an unpaid volunteer post although reasonable out of pocket expenses will be paid. Support and training are provided.
For a role description, application form or informal discussion, please contact Sally Willson, Clerk to the Corporation, at email@example.com.
