Home to over 140 independent creative businesses, Cockpit is London’s leading studios for contemporary craft and the UK’s only business incubator for craft and design. Over 30 years, we have built an international reputation for quality, integrity and creative excellence. With a new CEO and strategy in development, this is an exciting time to join the Board to shape Cockpit’s future.
The Board wishes to appoint new Trustees with these areas of expertise:
- Finance and Accountancy
- Fundraising, including Trust and Foundations and High Net Worth Individuals
- PR, marketing and communications
- Local connections in Deptford/Lewisham and/or in Holborn/Camden
We are also open to deepening and extending Board expertise in other areas relevant to Cockpit’s activities and therefore welcome applications from all interested candidates.
Cockpit has an inclusive culture where all aspects of diversity are seen as key to our success. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and to improve board diversity, we encourage applications from BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic) and disabled candidates.
Cockpit currently has ten serving Trustees, three of whom, including the Chair and Deputy Chair, will complete their third and final term in March 2022. We will appoint a new Chair in the coming year, either from within or outside the existing Board, and would also like to hear from candidates who may be interested in this role.
