Bristol Drugs Project – Trustee Vacancies
Bristol Drugs Project is currently seeking individuals to join our Board of Trustees.
BDP is a charity which delivers services to individuals, families and communities affected by drugs or alcohol, which reduce harm, maximise individuals’ potential and promote independence from drugs and alcohol. We have been established for more than 35 years and, with an annual turnover of over £3.5m, have become a major service provider for these services in the Bristol area. We are in a strong financial position and are involved in an exciting range of specialist service provision for children, young people and adults. BDP’s website provides more detail https://www.bdp.org.uk
Joining us will give you a real insight into some of our most complex modern day problems, which have an impact on so many aspects of all our lives and communities.
BDP are currently particularly interested in appointing trustees with a professional background in accountancy and finance, to add to the range of knowledge, skills and experience on our Board. We also pursue values of inclusion and diversity and seek to enhance this through the membership of our Board of Trustees.
The role of charity trustee is voluntary but carries important directorial responsibilities in pursuing and safeguarding the best interests of the charity. More information can be found at Charity trustee: what’s involved (CC3a) - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). The Board meets about 10 times each year, normally in the evening, including the Annual General Meeting. We also encourage trustees to support one of two important sub-committees relevant to their professional or other interests. There are currently 2 vacancies we are keen to fill over the coming months.
If you feel you have the skills and commitment to meet these challenges and are interested in becoming a BDP trustee, supporting a charity involved in critical work in our communities, we would very much welcome hearing from you. Please contact our Chief Executive, Maggie Telfer, at email@example.com or on 0117 987 6006.
