Voluntary position (but reasonable expenses will be paid)
SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities, a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London – from supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.
With homelessness at its highest level for a decade, our work - with its focus on early intervention, prevention and breaking the cycle of behaviours that trap people in homelessness – has never been more important or needed.
We currently have vacancies on our Board of Trustees for candidates with knowledge, skills and expertise at a senior level in Finance. We are seeking two candidates who will also sit on the Finance and Audit Committee, one of whom who will be appointed as Chair.
As member of the Board, you will be joining us at an exciting time as we shape and implement our new strategy for 2020 and beyond. Ideally, you will have experience of supporting an organisation to successful financial sustainability combined with strong analytical skills, a commercial mindset and the ability to consider the strategic significance of opportunities and risks.
So, if you are resourceful, supportive and want to join us in achieving our ambitious goals, as well as help us change the lives of the people we support, we want to hear from you.
We will require your time and commitment to 1-2 days per month; this includes attending six Board meetings per year (in the evenings). The Finance and Audit Committee will meet at least four times per year.
