Chartered Accountants' Trustees Ltd (CAT) is the Trustee of a number of charitable trusts whose concerns centre on actions which support and enhance the advancement of education and the discipline of accountancy and related subjects. Through facilitating education and funding academic research, CAT helps make a difference to the futures of bright, financially disadvantaged students and young people. Funding is provided from direct distributable funds, donations received and investment income.
The CAT Board is looking to appoint a Director with experience in Charity Finance. An essential eligiblity criteria is for the applicant to be an ICAEW member. Other criteria include:
- Knowledge of charity accounting and reporting.
- Experience of best practice in governance of non-profit entities.
- Experience of grant-making and philanthropy.
This is a voluntary unremunerated role, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed in line with policy.
The vacancies would suit open minded, pragmatic and dynamic individuals keen to engage with the mission of CAT in supporting the objects of the ICAEW Charitable Trusts. Experience of best practice in governance of non-profit entities, knowledge of financial accounting and an understanding of grant-making and philanthropy are other desirable attributes. The ability to work collaboratively within a team is a key criteria.
The Board meets three times per annum, typically in April, July and November. Meetings are held between 12:30 and 15:30, in London with the option to join by tele/video conference where necessary.
