We are looking for someone to join our Charity Trustees, bringing accounting experience to the Society. As well as taking on the role of Treasurer, we are hoping to attract someone keen on helping us modernise our processes.
We will need you to:
- Manage the Charity accounts
- Produce quarterly reports
- Produce annual accounts
- Manage auditing process
- Manage day-to-day finances (invoices, expenses payments etc)
- Contribute the development of our strategy
- Help us modernise our processes
We would love to have someone on board who has experience in day to day accounts management, and who has an interest in the local heritage and archaeology of Birmingham and Warwickshire. Ideally, they should be able to attend quarterly meetings in order to help build and deliver our strategic aims, and will need to provide reports for the Trustees.
The archaeology of the region has suffered over the last decade as a result of the economic downturn, and this has added to the Society seeing reduced membership numbers over the last few years. We need to revitalise the Society and bring in new voices in order to increase our impact, and the continuation of this (nearly) 150 year old organisation. The role of Treasurer is key in this development, and will have a lasting impact of the society.
This is chance to get involved in learn more about the place you live / work in, at the same time helping a longstanding charity get back to a stable position. The Treasurer role is not challenging or time consuming, but you will get the chance to work with a small and friendly team and help ensure that the Society continues into the future.
