We are currently seeking an Honorary Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees to oversee financial matters for the charity and be part of a committed governing team ensuring the effective administration of the organisation.
The purpose of the Honorary Treasurer role is to help ensure the financial sustainability of the charity and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation, in line with good practice, and in accordance with the charity’s governing documents and legal requirements.
The Honorary Treasurer will work closely with Project Manager and Project Support Coordinator to ensure that the Trustee Board have sound information to inform decisions and that the charity’s finances are managed in an effective and efficient manner.
This is a key position, playing a major part in shaping the future strategy and direction of the Charity.
For over 20 years, STAMP Revisited have been committed to improving the lives of those with mental health issues by providing a high-quality advocacy service to those living within Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-On-Tees.
We provide a person centred approach which supports and empowers those with mental health issues to put forward their views on issues critical to their well-being and recovery, assist them to gain and access information and services, defend and promote their rights and responsibilities and explore their choices and options.
Our aim is to empower our clients to make choices that positively impact upon their lives, to support them in identifying personal strengths and assist them to challenge social inequalities.
Skills & Abilities
- Financial qualification and extensive experience in strategic financial matters
- Experience preferably of charity finance, fundraising and investment matters
- Skills and ability to identify the key issues contained within finance-related reports and proposals information, and to ensure that they are communicated effectively to the Board
- Ability to present financial matters clearly and concisely
- Experience of strategic decision-making on a Trustee Board or similar Executive Committee
You will be expected to attend regular Board Meetings which currently take place monthly (usually held on the second Monday of each month for approximately 2 hours) and Finance Sub-Committee Meetings (approximately 6 per year). Meetings take place within various meeting rooms at Roseberry Park Hospital (Marton Road, Middlesbrough, TS4 3AF).
The role is unsalaried, but hugely rewarding! Any reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
The term is 3 years, with the possibility of re-election for a further 2 terms.
