Combination Dance Company - Company Mission
We celebrate dance as a unique and powerful art form. We support a wider recognition of the role of dance and dance professionals in contemporary culture. We inspire audiences.
“Unashamed virtuosity ... Thrilling dynamism ... an undoubtedly successful interdisciplinary work” Jacek Ludwig Scarso, Dance Critic
We allow the public to appreciate dance through our professional programme of work. We seek to find new and exciting platforms for dance - St Pancras International Station, Hampton Court Palace, The Millennium Dome and Richmond Riverside. We seek new audiences.
“A wonderful show. The Secret Garden was delivered to such a high standard - the choreography, the music, the costumes.” The Arts Service, London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames
We deliver an award winning community dance programme across London and provide a wide range of high quality dance activities. We work in partnership with Richmond Council, The London Mayor’s Office, schools, colleges and leading UK dance institutions. Our unique performance projects allow members of the community to work alongside our professional dancers. They boost self-esteem and raise participants’ expectations.
“Combination’s choreographers demonstrated their exceptional talent in working with the range of ages and abilities, in producing work of such a high standard, and one of which Richmond deserves to be proud” Richmond and Twickenham Times
We work in and with the community to increase participation in dance activities for all ages. We promote dance as part of a healthy lifestyle. We actively remove barriers to our projects and take professional performances to schools and community spaces. We improve access for those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate. We promote youth dance companies, classes, workshops, cross-generation community projects and performance opportunities.
“It was a great pleasure to see children enjoying themselves on stage and interacting with professional performers. All from many and varied backgrounds. The garden at Hampton Court proved an inspirational setting. I was pleased that Thames Community Foundation had been able to play a part in making the event happen” Nigel Carey, Chair Thames Community Foundation
