CABA Support Volunteer
CABA Support Volunteers work alongside CABA Support Officers bringing members' unique additional skills and expertise to support CABA clients. Each client has individual requirements which CABA aims to support in a holistic manner and members can provide an invaluable addition to this.
A CABA Support Volunteer is required to support a retired member who early onset dementia affecting his short term memory with a pen pal correspondence.
His wife reports that one of his main delights has been a pen pal correspondence with someone in Hong Kong which has sadly come to an end. Client lives in a rural location and is thus somewhat isolated. He has two great passions in sport and nature but welcomes hearing of matters of interest from a person's daily life and locality however small, from the UK or the world This would bring much needed pleasure and stimulation for him.
This is a general support role; confidentiality and a non-judgemental attitude are paramount.
