The London Welcome Project are recruiting trustees to our Board.

The London Welcome Project is a non-profit, member-driven social centre for asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants, as well as members of the local community. We operate a social centre in South London every Sunday, offering tea and coffee, a hot meal, and a range of indoor and outdoor activities for children, young people, families and adults, including a Bike Project and informal English practice, as well as regular partnership events. We aim to provide our visitors, many of whom are marginalised and vulnerable, with a safe, welcoming space where they can relax, make friends, and make meaningful links with the local community; this is especially important on Sundays, when many other services close. We are entirely volunteer-run.

We are now transitioning to becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in order to ensure the long term sustainability of the Centre, and to take forward exciting new areas of work. We are looking for committed trustees to join our Board to steer this work. Potential trustees with fundraising, finance, and legal backgrounds are encouraged, as these skills will be key to our success going forward.

If you would like to support and develop our crucial work at an exciting time, please contact Katie Commons at the London Welcome Project on, cc’ing in with your CV and a short covering letter explaining why you want to be involved, and the skills you can contribute by 30th August.

Interviews for this position will take place in the first two weeks of September.
