Honorary Treasurer for Voluntary Action Epping Forest (VAEF).
Oversee and ensure that the financial affairs of VAEF are conducted within legal requirements, accounting conventions and good practice. Achieve this by working with the appointed auditor, the Board of Trustees, Chief Officer and Finance Officer. In addition, play a role in promoting and sustaining the financial viability, growth and development of VAEF.
Volunteering as a treasurer is a good way to gain new skills and experience working in what can be a challenging environment. It is also a great way to network and to give something back. The experience can be hugely rewarding for the right person.
A knowledge of financial accounting and reporting procedures. An ability to communicate financial information to those who may have little or no financial background. Strategic financial planning skills. Some knowledge/understanding or the current issues affecting the voluntary and community sector.
