About Alzheimer's Research UK

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. We power world class studies that give us the best chance of beating dementia sooner. Our scientists’ groundbreaking work focuses on prevention, treatment and cure.

We are currently setting up local fundraising groups across the country to increase awareness of dementia in local communities and raise vital funds for our pioneering scientific research. We welcome contact from anyone who is interested in supporting these groups by volunteering for the treasurer role. You can find out more and register your interest at http://www.alzheimersresearchuk.org/volunteering/alzheimers-research-uk-regional-groups/

In the UK more than 850,000 people are currently living with dementia. Worldwide the figure stands at more than 44 million.

There are currently no treatments to stop the diseases that cause dementia. While some treatments can help people to live with their symptoms a little better, there are no treatments that slow or stop diseases like Alzheimer's.

Alzheimer’s Research UK is leading the fightback by supporting dementia research projects worth more than £33 million in leading universities across the UK. Join us in the fightback by volunteering as a treasurer for one of our local fundraising groups. We look forward to hearing from you and thank you so much for your support.
